Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Go Solar in Michigan?

Michigan is a great place to go solar! Despite its colder climate, Michigan receives ample sunlight to power solar panels efficiently. By switching to solar, you can:

Save Money: Reduce or eliminate your electricity bills with clean, renewable energy.
Increase Property Value: Homes with solar panels sell faster and at higher prices.
Protect the Environment: Reduce your carbon footprint and contribute to a cleaner, greener Michigan.
Take Advantage of Incentives: Michigan residents can benefit from federal tax credits, net metering, and other local incentives to make solar more affordable.

How Much Does a Solar Installation Cost in Michigan?

The cost of a solar installation depends on factors like your energy usage, roof size, and the type of system you choose. On average, Michigan homeowners can expect to pay between 15,000and15,000and25,000 for a residential solar system before incentives.

However, with the 30% federal solar tax credit and other Michigan-specific incentives, your out-of-pocket cost can be significantly lower.

Will Solar Panels Work During Michigan Winters?

Yes! Solar panels are designed to work in all seasons, including winter. In fact, solar panels can perform better in colder temperatures because they operate more efficiently in cooler weather. Snow can temporarily reduce output, but it typically melts quickly due to the panels’ dark surface and angle.

At Star Tek Solar, we design systems specifically for Michigan’s climate, ensuring optimal performance year-round. Plus, with net metering, any excess energy your system produces during sunny months can offset your usage during winter.

How Long Does It Take to Install Solar Panels?

The timeline for a solar installation depends on the complexity of your project and local permitting requirements. On average, the process takes 6-8 weeks from start to finish. Here’s a breakdown:

Consultation & Design: 1-2 weeks
Permitting & Approvals: 2-4 weeks
Installation: 1-2 days
Inspection & Activation: 1-2 weeks

At Star Tek Solar, we handle every step of the process, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for our customers.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Brayden and his team did a wonderful job converting my old tub to a walk in shower! They put drop cloths down before starting their work and cleaned up everything after they were done. They even cleaned my bathroom mirror! I couldn’t believe how efficient and streamlined the installation was. Even my neighbors were impressed!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The team is awesome. We had good communication from start to finish. Everything was explained and as I monitored the progress it was evident they knew what they were doing. Brayden is professional, respectful and worked hard from start to finish. The same goes for the young man helping - sorry I forgot his name - and he worked hard.
Everything was cleaned up as they worked, and afterwords I think our home was cleaner than when they started.

They covered my wood floors with drop cloths, and cleaned up afterwards. I couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend BathWorks to anyone needing a tub to shower conversion. Remodeling without any mess, stress or hassle!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. From the sales rep, customer service in the office, as well as the installers; Jason and Cameron we have had nothing but positive interactions.
Everyone in their individual positions did an excellent job of explaining in detail what we needed to know.
This is our 1st time working with Bath Works of Michigan and we recommend them highly. The fact that they have a lifetime warranty and their product is beautiful is well worth the money.
Thank you BATH WORKS for reviving our master shower.
